God, Have You Forgotten Us?
Oh, God, it's been 2024 years since you left us. Your children are dying, suffering, and crying out for your intervention. Have you forgotten about the innocent? Why are you so silent when evil runs rampant, bringing sorrow and pain to the most vulnerable?
In Africa, dictators have exploited the poor, using their power to enrich themselves while the people suffer. They've corrupted everything needed for survival: schools lie in ruins, hospitals lack basic medical supplies, and the economy is in shambles. People die recklessly because the dictator neglected his work, more concerned with maintaining his grip on power than serving his people.
In Ukraine, children are hiding in bomb shelters, their childhoods shattered by the sound of gunfire and explosions. In Yemen, they're dying of starvation, their tiny bodies weakened by hunger and disease. In Syria, they're forced to flee their homes, their families torn apart by conflict and violence.
In Gaza, children are trapped in a never-ending cycle of violence and fear, their homes reduced to rubble, their futures uncertain. They are forced to grow up fast. They're suffering from malnutrition, their bodies weakened by the lack of food and medicine. They're crying out for help, but their voices are drowned out by the sound of gunfire and explosions.
In Asia, children are being exploited and enslaved, forced into labor and prostitution. In the Middle East, they're used as human shields, sacrificed for political gain. Everywhere, children are suffering, and the world seems to have forgotten them.
Truly, everything was prophesied in the Bible - the wars, the famines, the earthquakes, and the evil that would consume the world. But this is too much. Your silence towards what the evil men are doing is forcing us to think that maybe you were also kidnapped. Maybe you're being held captive by the forces of darkness, unable to intervene.
But we refuse to believe that. We know that you're all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. We know that you're the same God who parted the seas, brought down walls, and raised the dead. Where is that power now? Why have you not unleashed it upon the forces of evil that seek to destroy us, to silence us, and to erase our faith? Why are you allowing them to mock Christianity? Why are you allowing them to desecrate your holy name? Why are you allowing them to use the name of Jesus in scenes of utter abomination?
But what's even more painful is that the disciples you left for us, the pastors, bishops, and others, have turned us into ATM machines. They use your gospel to fool and manipulate people, to line their own pockets with gold and silver. They use your gospel to justify the evil they do, to oppress the weak and marginalize the poor. They've turned your house of prayer into a den of thieves, where the wealthy are blessed and the poor are ignored. They've turned your message of love and redemption into a tool for control and domination.
We need you, God. We need you to act. We need you to remind the world who is the true God, the Creator, and the Savior. We need you to show us that you are still with us, that you still care.
Your silence is deafening. It's forcing us to question whether you've abandoned us or if something has happened to you in heaven. We don't want to doubt you, God, but the pain and suffering are overwhelming us.
We come to you in our happiness, our sadness, and our abandonment. We come to you because we have nowhere else to go. We need your love, your comfort, and your protection.
Please, God, don't turn a deaf ear to our cries. Don't leave us to face the darkness alone. We need you, now more than ever. We need you to end the wars, to stop the suffering, and to bring peace to our troubled world.
